Recipe of Lauki Dalcha

Ingredients of Lauki Dalcha:

  1. Split Red gram 2 cups
  2. Gram lentil 1/2 cup
  3. Onion 1 cup
  4. Tamarind juice 1/2 cup
  5. Tomatoes 2 chopped
  6. Green chilies 4
  7. Bottle gourd 1/2 kg peeled and cubes
  8. Red chili powder 3 tsp
  9. Ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp
  10. Oil 1/4 cup
  11. Coriander leaves 1/2 cup
  12. Curry leaves 15
  13. Cloves 2
  14. Cinnamon stick 1
  15. Cardamon 1
  16. Black cumin seeds 1/2 tsp

Method of Lauki Fish:

Wash and soak the daals for 1 hour and pressure cook them. Heat oil in a pan, add whole spices with chopped onion, fry well until onion is light golden, add curry leaves, ginger garlic paste, whole green chilies, chili powder, coriander leaves, chopperised tomatoes, fry well, add lauki, fry well, add with 2 cups water, cover and  cook till lauki tender, add the daal with tamarind juice and water as required, cover and cook for 15 mins, Serve with boiled rice.
